Pricing Updates for WhatsApp Business |
This announcement is to inform customers using WhatsApp Business about Meta’s recent updates to WhatsApp Business Messaging pricing. Key changes include the following:
- Effective November 1, 2024, Service Conversations are free of charge. Service Conversations are those initiated by customers. For more details on service conversations, please see details here.
- Effective April 1, 2025, Meta will transition to a per-message pricing model for template messages instead of the current per-conversation model. Template messages are commonly used for:
- Sending proactive marketing or utility messages via the LivePerson Proactive Messaging product.
- IVR deflection using the LivePerson Connect to Messaging product.
- Following up with consumers outside of the 24-hour customer service window.

Please be aware that LivePerson’s billing model and policies for handling WhatsApp charges remain unchanged. LivePerson will continue to apply a 15% handling fee on pass-through costs from WhatsApp.
